As Eater gears up for the publication of its first ever cookbook, Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes from the Authority on Where to Eat and Why It Matters, we’ve been busy planning events around the country. Events will spotlight local chefs and industry insiders featured in the cookbook and run the gamut from parties to bookstore signings to panel talks to demos.

Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes is all about deepening the connections you have with the restaurants you love and bringing some of their magic home. What better way to connect than to meet up with Eater and these talented folks IRL? We can’t wait to see you. And stay tuned here: More events are in the works and we’ll keep the calendar below up to date.

Atlanta Lunch and Book Launch | Saturday, October 14, 11:30 a.m.

Lucian Books and Wine, 3005 Peachtree Rd Suite 300, Atlanta, GA

Buckhead wine bar Lucian is hosting a special lunch on October 14 inspired by the recipes featured in Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes. Join Eater Atlanta editor Beth McKibben and chef Jason Paolini for a three-course, family-style lunch. Tickets are $85 and inclusive of tax and gratuity, with beverages available a la carte. New York City Wine & Food Festival | Saturday, October 14

Eater is thrilled to be partnering with the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival again this year for a duo of one-night-only meals. They include:

  • A Dinner Fit for a Dame or a Lord, hosted by Dame’s Ed Szymanski and Patricia Howard, and chef Ken Oringer of Boston fame. Tickets are $295.
  • An Unapologetic Evening of Outstanding Indian Cuisine, hosted by Chintan Pandya and Roni Mazumdar of Dhamaka, Semma, Adda, and more. Tickets are $295.

Portland Bookstore Event | Saturday, October 21, 3:00 p.m.

Powell’s Books, 1005 W Burnside Street, Portland, OR

Our first of two events in Portland will take place at Powell’s Books, and feature Eater Portland editor and 2023 James Beard Award winner Brooke Jackson-Glidden moderating a panel of local chefs Bonnie Frumkin Morales of Kachka and Nong Poonssukwattana of Nong’s Khao Man Gai, and Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes author Hillary Dixler Canavan. New Orleans Launch Party | Monday, October 23, 6:00 p.m.

Ace Hotel New Orleans, 600 Carondelet St, New Orleans, LA

In partnership with the Ace Hotel New Orleans, Eater New Orleans editor Clair Lorell will sit down for a conversation with renowned chef Nina Compton, followed by a Q&A. There will be a food menu for sale inspired by Nina’s recipe in the book as well as her repertoire, Garden District Book Store will be onsite with books for purchase and signing, and much more. Portland Launch Party | Monday, October 23, 5:00 p.m.

We’re excited to host our second Portland event at Vivienne Culinary Books, best known as Portland’s premier cookbook store run by owner Robin Wheelright. Celebrate with Eater Portland editor Jackson-Glidden, book author Hillary Dixler Canavan, and our industry friends with a food menu inspired by the recipes in the book, wine, and much more. LA Chef’s Conference | Monday, October 30

LA Trade-Tech’s Culinary Arts Pathway, 400 W Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA

Book author Hillary Dixler Canavan will be hosting a book signing as part of the 2023 LA Chef Conference on October 30 from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. Elsewhere at the conference, Hillary will be moderating a panel on what it means for restaurants to received awards and accolades, with chefs William Bradley (Addison), Gilberto Cetina (Holbox), Rashida Holmes (Bridgetown Roti), and Justin Pichetrungsi (Anajak).
